Areas of Interest: Family Communication, Health Communication, Multi-modal activities, Reported speech, Language socialization

For me, multi-party face-to-face interaction is the primordial site of sociality. I am particularly interested in the way in which participants in everyday interactions use language, their bodies, objects, and the surrounding environment to accomplish actions and activities. I believe through the detailed analysis of face-to-face interaction we can uncover the machinery of human communicative practices and provide valuable insights to both our colleagues inside academia, as well as to people outside academia.
