Celf Specialization: Sociocultural/Medical and Psychological Anthropology
Kristin’s work with CELF focuses on the Family Health Portraits project. Specifically, Kristin is interested in how family discourse around health often echoes larger public health messages, for example, emphasizing the importance of a “healthy diet” or “physical activity”, and how these messages have a moral impact on families’ reflection on their health status. Kristin is also exploring how families construe a particular relational ethos around health and wellbeing, infusing personal and family values into what “health” means in the context of daily life interactions.
